Daytime snooze

So far we have covered the benefits of a good nights sleep but how about the mid-day snooze during these cold winter months.

Winston Churchill, Napoleon Bonaparte, Albert Einstein, Leonardo Da Vinci and John F. Kennedy were all daytime snoozers. What’s more is that recent research is proving evidence that an afternoon nap may be a good way to combat sleepiness, overcoem the late day tiredness and most importantly improve your performance at work.

Some people believe that an afternoon nap will interfere with nighttime sleep however an afternoon nap may be perfectly compatible with a finely-tuned bodyclock. The majority of us are awake for approx 16hours a day and then asleep for about 8. What most people dont realise however is that our biological is set with a ‘dip’ in alertness about every 12 hours - one at about 2am and another around 2pm linking in with the midday tiredness. This makes fighting off sleep at these times difficult especially if your sleep deprived already.

Gregory Belenky, MD, Research Professor and Director of the Sleep and Performance Research Center at Washington State University, recommends naps as a way to make up for lost nighttime sleep. He says, “The beauty of naps is that they add to total recuperative sleep time,” adding that “A large number of the world’s people divide their sleep into two blocks (with the afternoon sleep called a siesta in Spanish-speaking countries). It is even possible that divided sleep is more recuperative than sleep taken in a single block.”

The perfect nap time is just 10 minutes!! This produced the most benefits in terms of reduced tiredness and improved performance. A nap lasting 30minutes plus is more likely to be followed by a period of grogginess.

So everybody when its all cold outside. Put your heating on, light your fires and snuggle down on your nice wool rugs for your midday nap. Make sure its just 10 minutes though!!

Is Beauty Sleep Really Needed?

So we all hear how we need our beauty sleep but what are the benefits?

Studies show that a good number of adults are okay with just 6-7 hours of sleep. I have nothing against this however 8 hours of sleep is highly recommended and with very good reason. In cases where people have had less than 8 hours sleep they often feel drowsier throughout the day. Along with drowsiness lack of sleep also has an effect on your skin. Lack of sleep can aggravate acne, give you dark circles under your eyes and make them puffy and cause your skin to become dull and gaunt. Your chances of becoming obese are also related to lack of sleep. The blood flow to the skin is increased at night so it is the perfect time to put your pricey moisturisers to the test. Celebs and fashion models all agree on the importance of 8 hours sleep.

So how do I get a good night’s sleep?

A few tips for a good night sleep are:-
• Try to keep regular hours of sleep
• Create a clutter free and quiet environment
• Don’t over indulge
• Look for signs of wear and tear on your bed
• If your mattress is more than 10 years old replace it.

One of the main tips I can give you on a good night’s sleep is finding yourself a luxury mattress. I found this fantastic range online and I must say having purchased one from here myself they really are amazing. Take a look and see if you can find a luxury mattress to help you to get that perfect sleep.

Remember ladies 8 hours of sleep will certainly help on our quest to perfect flawless skin.

Silver Jewellery

Today Im going to give you tips on finding silver jewellery (as it’s a personal favourite of mine)now that you have beautiful skin.

Jewellery items made of silver are usually crafted by using machines or by hand. If you need better polishing, aim for machine made silver pieces. Machine made accessory takes a shorter time to make and doesn’t need much labor. On the contrary, hand crafted designer jewellery requires a longer time to make. The maker uses his skill and craftiness in creating an accessory. As a result, hand crafted accessories are more costly.

A lot of people now get into practice of buying silver accessories on the internet. Online buying is a lot more hassle-free for many nevertheless there are also disadvantages. One problem is that you do not see the products in person prior to buying them. This is why you definitely have to choose reputable internet vendors only. Ask your colleagues if they’ve experienced making online buying before and see if they can recommend someone.

Younger Looking Skin

Women just like me are quite specific with the way they look. Besides, beauty is everything. Beauty brings out self-confidence. We won’t think twice shelling out some money simply to keep ourselves looking good. I must understand because I set my appearance on top of everything. This is why I have Botox treatment procedure.

A few people think that it’s wrong to change the way you look by way of state-of-the-art treatments. However to me, once you think it is right for you, go ahead and proceed.

My dilemma is actually my forehead wrinkles. After my initial consultation with the reputable beautician who does my Botox in Manchester we decided that the Botox cosmetic injection, this works by inactivating the muscles that cause the wrinkles to form on the skin, as the best option for me. Botox procedure is reasonably inexpensive but its effects fade away in approximately a few months. So, I have to undergo the procedure again.

Botox treatment procedure is pretty safe and doesn’t require surgical incision. Therefore, people like me who do not like stitches performed on their face can choose this procedure. There are a lot of women like me who want to enhance their look, and this procedure is just perfect. Don’t misunderstand me. This particular treatment isn’t for ladies only, because it has been performed to many popular men.

Of course, we can’t be too excited. Not all people should undergo Botox treatment. There is a health check to be carried out to make sure you’re suitable before going ahead with the procedure. If botox is something you are interested in then I highly recommend Botox in Manchester.
