Velvet Magazine Flash Fiction Competition
| Velvet announces its first Flash Fiction Competition in collaboration with Chroma: A Queer Literary Journal: Fiction/Poetry up to 150 words on the themes of Journey, Surprise and/or Lust Deadline 1 September 2008 Entries must be the work of the entrant and must not have been previously published. The fee is £5 per entry, payable via the website (soon) or by cheque to PO Box 19, Cambridge CB4 2WZ Entries from outside the UK will be accepted but must be paid for via the website or by cheque from a UK bank in pounds sterling. All entries must be in English, typed, single-sided with the entrants name, address and email address on a separate sheet. Email entries with a Word attachment are prefered, otherwise send to PO Box 19, Cambridge CB4 2WZ. Aknowledgement of receipt can only be sent if an SAE is included. Entries from all members of the lgbt community are welcomed. Copyright will remain with the author, but Velvet will have the right to publish the winning entries. Chroma: A Queer Literary Journal will also have the right to publish the winning entries. The judge's decision is final and no individual correspondence can be entered into. Judge - Stella Duffy Prizes - 1st Prize £200, 2nd Prize - signed books by Sarah Waters, Stella Duffy, Zoe Strachan, VG Lee and others, and a free subscription to Velvet. Winning entires will be published in Velvet November 2008, and in a future issue of Chroma.
